So yesterday was a pretty crazy day. Not so much for me, but just in general in events that took place. The Madison Square bank next to my work was robbed. At gunpoint, and there were shots fired. That… freaks me out. A lot. I don’t think anyone was shot. I couldn’t find out because they didn’t say anything about it at all on the news. Which surprised me a great deal. Normally, when banks get robbed, it’s on the news, yeah? They had so many cops there, CSI units, FBI, Troopers, you name it, chances are that they were there. The whole think wigs me out though because we’re all back in this little shopping center that you can’t even see from the road. And the bank was robbed in broad daylight at like 9:30 in the morning. I’ve always been rather sketched out about working at night and stuff, because our store has been robbed three times. And two of them have been at gunpoint. They were all a few years before I started working there but recently there have been a lot of robberies in the area.

There were also a lot of car accidents yesterday, but the one that really stuck out, was also, right by my work. Two girls had just gotten out of school and were driving down MD 152 (speed limit is 50 mph) talking on their cell phones and eating (at the same time!) when she drifted into the other lane and hit a truck head on (they were in a tiny little sedan without airbags). The driver flew out the window and underneath the truck. She died before they could get her to the hospital. The other girl is in Shock Truama with no word as of yet. I’ve heard nothing about the truck driver. But my whole thing about it is, why would you be so stupid and try doing 8 million things while you’re driving? This is the second accident in 2 weeks where someone younger than 18 has been doing something stupid and died because of it. Some girl died making a left hand turn off of my road. She cut off a mack truck and got t-boned by it on the drivers side. She also died before they could get her to the hospital. I just don’t know what these kids are thinking. Granted, I know I’m only 19 and not much older than any of them, but dammit, I am not that stupid.

On a brighter note, one of my favorite authors, Nick Sagan now has a Myspace. It made me very excited when I went to myspace and had a friend request from him. I was like omg squee! I wrote him a myspace message gushing about how much I loved his books (which I would love to do to every author I love) and how I actually just randomly came across his books. Anyways, he wrote me back, and he checked out my site and my portfolio and actually commented on some of my works. Which made me entirely too excited. Little things make my day.

Reminds me of the video clip to Pink’s song “Stupid Girls” - unfortunately stuff like that happens and so many young people are dying because of their stupidity.

When will it end?

p.s I don’t think I’d like to be working near you. Although, how exciting in a weird and twisted way.

Guess Who?! How you been sweetie?

About those damn accidents: I know exactly what you mean! Im only 19 as well and it amazes me how stupid people only a few years younger then us are.. it’s utterly dumbfounding.

So god! What’s been going on? lol.. and why the new domain??

Wow, that’s a lot of sudden drama in your neck of the woods! I hope no one was hurt in the robbery! I agree with you about young drivers doing stupid things. It’s definitely a shame that so many people could die at such a young age, but it also makes me angry to think that these are things that could have been easily prevented.

And behold the power of MySpace! One of your favorite authors sent a friend request to you. You think it would be the other way around. Haha. That’s really awesome, though. Especially to get feedback on your own work from him. Yay!

Wow, if I were you I’d consider moving. Well actually I live in a city that has much of the same to offer day after day. Glad you weren’t involved in either incedent. Lovely new layout too, as always. Quite classy.

Ohhh…the joys of being back in Harco. I didn’t hear about the bank! My mom usually gives me the blow by blow when it comes to gossip and I didn’t even hear that. I think people are stupid up here, but that’s just me.

*sigh* People will never cease being stupid or doing dangerous things. This damn station wagon nearly caused Dan to run into them because they were trying to merge much slower than we were going.

Hun - you don’t talk to me any more. I don’t know if you’re busy, but I miss you.

Where I’m from (The Netherlands) it’s actually illegal to drive and use your cellphone at the same time, unless you use a handsfree set. There are plenty of people still not using a handsfree set while driving their car and I’ve seen it happen quiet a few times that they were so occupied with their talking they forgot they were on the road :-/

Most young people don’t think before they act and that’s what gets them into trouble. A few days ago here a boy jumped off a bridge in the middle of the night with some friends (for no other reason than ‘fun’) and got himself killed. Horrible for the ones that stay behind but why would you jump off a bridge in the first place?

Anyway I hope Monday will be a normal day for you without anything scary happening!
